Call for Workshop Presenters for the 2024 Conference, November 14 – 16, Malta.

The International Council on Couple and Family Relations (ICCFR) is pleased to announce its call for workshop presenters for the upcoming 2024 ICCFR Conference. This year’s conference will explore the theme “Intergenerational Perspectives in Families – Challenges and Opportunities” delving into the dynamic interplay between generations within the family unit.

Based in the UK, the ICCFR is an international organization offering a unique opportunity for social services, caring professionals, legal and policy experts to convene and examine contemporary issues affecting diverse families. Established in 1953, the ongoing networking value of relationships cultivated through ICCFR is unparalleled.

Positive Parenting Malta and the Ministry for Social Policy and Children’s Rights are jointly supporting this year’s ICCFR Conference which will be held at the Urban Valley Resort & Spa, Kappara, Malta.

The Conference Workshop is an excellent opportunity for practitioners to share their work and facilitate further discussion of practical applications of ideas. The value of initiating and maintaining international connections cannot be overstated.

About the Conference:

The 2024 ICCFR Conference aims to provide a platform for researchers, practitioners, and experts in the field of family relationships to exchange insights, experiences, and best practices. With a focus on intergenerational dynamics, the conference seeks to foster discussions on the challenges and opportunities inherent in familial relationships across generations.

Call for Workshop Proposals:

We invite workshop presenters to submit proposals that align with the conference theme. Workshop durations are 90 minutes that would include a Q&A and will be held on Friday 15th November. Proposals should explore various aspects of intergenerational perspectives in families, addressing topics such as but not limited to:

  • Intergenerational communication and conflict resolution
  • Family traditions, values, and cultural transmission
  • Impact of societal changes on intergenerational relationships
  • Intergenerational caregiving and support systems
  • Transitioning roles and responsibilities across generations
  • Addressing generational differences in family dynamics
  • Strategies for promoting understanding and cohesion among family members.

Submission Guidelines:

Interested presenters are requested to submit their workshop proposals via email to administrator@iccfr.org. Proposals should include the following details:

  1. Title of the workshop
  2. Abstract (maximum 200 words) outlining the workshop content and objectives
  3. Presenter(s) biography highlighting relevant experience and expertise
  4. Any additional requirements or resources needed for the workshop

Important Dates:

  • Deadline for workshop proposal submissions: 31st May 2024
  • Conference dates: 14 – 16 November 2024

A reduction in the Conference registration fee of £50 is offered to individual Workshop presenters; if there are multiple presenters for one Workshop, the £50 reduction is shared between them.
