May 2009

Since the beginning of this year, the ICCFR Trust has received grants from the Flemish Ministry Departement Welzijn, Volksgezondheid en Gezin and the German Ministry Bundes-ministerium für Familie, Senioren, Frauen und Jugend. These are designated for the administrative and organisational support that underpins the development and educational purpose of the International Commission on Couple and Family Relations.

For the third year running, the Trust has been awarded a grant from the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Foundation. This is intended to provide educational support for the purposes of the ICCFR Commission and for attendees of its annual conference, enabling the Trust to sponsor selected candidates for whom participation in this event is of particular relevance in their work and who would not otherwise be in a position to attend.

The Trust extends its congratulations to Founder Trustee Suzie S. Thorn and husband Joe Thorn Sr. who celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in March. Trustees Anne Berger and Gerlind Richards were present at the celebration and on behalf of the Trust received the generous donations given in honour of the occasion which Suzie and Joe had chosen in lieu of gifts.

The ICCFR Trust wishes to acknowledge its appreciation to all who have given it their support – financial and otherwise - which allows it to continue to fulfil its aims and objectives.
