‘CHANGING TIMES: IMPACTS OF TIME ON FAMILY LIFE’

From 22 to 24 June, about 120 participants from all continents discussed the theme of ‘Changing Times: Impacts of Time on Family Llife’.
International experts from several countries spoke on the theme from different approaches and views on policy, social work, science, therapy and the law. The conference began with an opening reception hosted by the German Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth. Caren Marks, the Parliamentary Secretary of State to the Federal Minister for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, gave a speech of introduction.
The conference was composed of keynote speeches, discussion groups and workshops. The keynotes were delivered by Professor Jean-Pierre Vanhee, Belgium, with a corresponding discussion led by Lloyd Godson and Grant Howell, USA and Great Britain, on 23 and 24 June; and by Professor Jutta Allmendinger PhD, from the German WZB, on 24 June. The keynote speeches were translated simultaneously from English to German and vice versa.
